Why This Site Exists
Connecticut keeps most custody and court records open to the public. The hard part is not access. It is knowing where a person sits in the system. Hamden is a town in New Haven County, and the state shut down its county jails back in 1968, so there is no local roster to scan and no sheriff who runs a lockup.
Three systems matter here. The Hamden Police Department makes the arrests and holds people for a short time right after booking.
